BBQ Tables Letter

In class we had to write a letter to Mrs Beaumont about why sheppard courtyard needs bbq tables because the courtyard doesn’t have many seats so here is my letter.

Dear Mrs Beaumont,  have you seen the sheppard courtyard lately? Because there  aren't  many places to sit so sheppard has thought we could raise money to buy BBQ tables.

Why would we need them? We need them so we can talk to more people than the two people sitting  next  to us. If we had BBQ tables we can talk to everyone sitting at the table. More people can sit on seats and not on the ground because most people have to sit on the ground if they don’t get out of class early.  Also our food there has been many times when my food has fallen on the ground and if we had BBQ tables we wouldn't have to worry about our food falling off our laps. And  we can learn outside on a sunny day  and use the tables as work spaces  because if we tried to work outside most of the class would have to work on the ground  and get the back of our books and paper dirty.    

How would we get the money  we can get money by doing jobs around the house like: the dishes, washing, vacuuming… sausage sizzle, raffle tickets and selling baking: like cupcakes, fudge and  biscuits.

What could we do with the spare money. We could use the spare money to buy:  pe equipment, flowers and plants for the garden, the canteen and to fix anything broken around the school.

I hope you like the sound of sheppard’s  idea, i think it would be better to have more tables in the courtyard I hope you think the same thing. Regards,             Hanna  room 12B

Rube Goldberg

At the start of the term we all decided to do a fun learning task so we did the rube goldberg machines! Ours went down a ramp and hit these two pens that hit some dominos. And they hit the plastic bottle that rolled and hit the ball that hit the bell! So ours wasn't to complicated but it worked. It took a lot of thinking and working out we had to think about if it was going to work or not and what things we would have to get and who would get the objects for the rube goldberg.

 The hardest part was to line up the dominoes because they kept on falling over and we had to keep redoing it. We usually got ours on our first try but when we had to show it to the class we seemed to do it badly on our first try. So we did it again and it worked that time. I think it was a really fun experiment and we worked ok as a team. So I think it was a success!

Nuceation

We have being doing the coke mentos experiment and watched the dancing raisins experiment 

in our school we have been writing speeches on something to with the human                                        body my one was on Bo (body odour)

                                           BO

What is body odour? Are you the smelly one in the room because it is some one and it is not me. 

It may not be you who is super smelly it could be you annoying brother your mum or even your stupid uncle who only washes once every 20 years!!!!!! But if it is not you annoying brother your mum or your stupid uncle that only washes once every 20 years it is obviously you.

Now some say BO is bacteria growing on your skin but realy it is bacteria breaking down protein into certain acids. it is the bacteria breaking down that causes that unpleasant smell.

So have you thought of getting rid of BO because it doesn't seem like it so here are some tips .

Start off by having a shower or bath daily, where clean clothes, when you go to sport bring deodorant with you.

So do you still want to be the smelly one in the room because im pretty

PE.rugby

in PE we have been learning rugby, we focused on rugby passes we had to learn how to pass the rugby ball to each other, how to pass , how to hold the rugby ball, and how to follow through with our hands when we have passed the ball. here is a video of us practicing our skills. (watch is slow motion and count how many times mr Billings says go)

in class we  have been learning about anzac and i choose to do a christmas billy

i put book the book the book in so he can  read when he has free time

i put a note pad in so he can write about war and write letters home

i put socks in there to keep his feet warm

i put a sewing kit in there so if any thing rips he can sew it back

i put cookies so if he gets hungry he can eat something

In class we have being learning how to use  protractors  and measure  angles we had to make different triangles out of paper then we use a protractor to measure it  to make  sure all the  angles  had to add up to 180 degrees

      our task was to design and  make a $200 dollar note. it had to impromed New Zealand people and things on it had to relate to New Zealand.
